What you can see and try at Cresta
The Cresta appointment bay lets you get hands-on with FabMaster Workshop fixtures, benches and training setups before you commit to a yard upgrade. Set up BenchMaster Pro, ClampRail System, and TorchBay Station with your own workpiece or try our sample setups. Weld, clamp, lay out or grind as you would on your own floor, using our practical fixtures and bay cards.
We demonstrate earth bonding on the M10 studs, safe torch and grinder use following General Safety Regulation 9, and test fit JigKit Modular plates or ScrapRack Lane units for your storage needs. The space is built for practical checks, not for display. You can push gear, measure clearances, and see how safety stations and consumable storage really work in Gauteng’s high-paced, apprentice-heavy fabrication shops.

What to bring to your appointment
To make the most of your Cresta appointment, bring along details of your own workshop and work mix. This lets us set up the bay closer to your actual needs, so you get real answers on fit, workflow and safety.
A few items make all the difference when testing fixtures or planning a new bay. Bring what you have, no need for fancy CAD or perfect drawings.
- Photos of your current workshop bay or fab area
- A sample part, jig, or drawing you actually build
- Your main job types and materials (eg, light gates, pipe, angles, mixed thickness)
- Your normal power supply details (single, three phase, plug points)
- Any repeat safety or layout problems you want solved
Fabrication shops in Randburg and northern Joburg
Cresta sits in the middle of Joburg North’s mixed fabrication belt. Local shops handle everything from balustrades and gates for residential estates, trailer repairs for bakkie fleets, and HVAC ductwork for shopping centres, to welding tasks for schools and light industry. Many shops squeeze heavy jobs into tight spaces, run with junior welders side by side with old hands, and need gear that stands up to both speed and mistakes.
This region’s workshops often run a mix of steel, stainless and some aluminium, with much of the finishing done in-house. Fast part turnaround, jobbing lots and apprentice training are daily realities. Power interruptions happen, so we show how our gear safely restarts and keeps workflow moving. If you deal with Highveld dust, gritty hinges, or the odd thunderstorm trip, you will see how earth points, clamp screws and bay layouts cope in these typical conditions.
