How we work

Every FabMaster bay, fixture and habit is proven on our own Sunnyrock floor before we recommend it for South African fabrication shops.

We test gear on our own fabrication floor

No fixture or setup leaves our Sunnyrock floor until our own crew have built real jobs with it. We weld, cut, grind and measure on every BenchMaster Pro, ClampRail System and JigKit Modular before we ever offer it for a customer’s bay.

Each bit of kit faces Gauteng dust, power hiccups, and heavy hands. If a clamp or earth stud works loose, we find out first, not you. When our spark skirts catch a grinding burst or our earth bond plates see a week’s night shift, we know where they last and where they fail.

This means we do not hand over untested gear. Your crew gets gear we rely on ourselves, with the fixtures, tags and cards proven by our own team.

We plan each bay to fit your own jobs

Every fabrication bay must flow with your mix of parts, team experience, job sequence and available space. We walk through your typical jobs, material sizes, and layout. We cover earth bond points, safe reach for grinding, clear sightlines for welders, PPE station placement and how sparks move across the floor.

For coastal shops in Gqeberha or Durban, we plan for humidity and rust. On the Highveld, dust control, lightning trip risks and bakkie material drops shape where we place ScrapRack Lanes and power points. If you have two crews or teach TVET terms, we help you set up safe zones, clear tags and fixture racks to avoid confusion.

Power interruptions do happen. We help organise safe restarts and material flow so your crew does not lose track or miss safety checks if a grinder or welder stops mid-job.

Shopfloor cards and notes are checked by the team

Every printable card, recipe tag, kanban list and measuring log is written and checked by the person in charge of that bay or gear. That might be Ms Thandi Nkosi on the fabrication benches, Mr Pieter van Wyk on measuring kits, or Ms Aisha Moodley on PPE.

Cards follow South African safety law and plain shopfloor English. The team run through each card or log sheet on a real shift before it gets printed for customers. If a check is skipped or a step is unclear, it gets changed and re-tested.

We take pride in habits that work under pressure, on day shift, night shift and when new staff join mid-project.

First-week follow-ups catch what needs fixing

When your new bay or fixture is in use, we follow up in the first week with a call or site visit if needed. We check what works, what blocks flow and if anything needs a tweak or replacement.

This first-week habit means you do not wait until a problem grows. If a grind deck skirt does not fit a tool, a ScrapRack tag is missing or a welding return is not reaching clean metal, we sort it out fast.

Our aim is a bay that works the way your team actually fabricates, rather than only how it looked in the plan. You can always send us a message through our contact form to flag a fix or get advice.
