Careers
FabMaster Workshop hires practical people for hands-on fabrication, gear set-up, training and showroom roles. Trade skills, clear thinking and customer patience are valued here.
What roles we hire for
We run fabrication, demo, training, dispatch and showroom operations from Sunnyrock and support across South Africa. Our team includes fabrication technicians who assemble and fit out bays, boilermakers and welders for our demo and sample floor, showroom hosts who guide buyers through gear at our appointment showrooms, dispatch and freight staff who handle deliveries, and trainers who run hands-on days using our TrainBay Starter setups.
Work can range from welding and jig assembly to supporting field gear demos, checking fixtures for wear, or helping TVET students learn safe setup and housekeeping on real steel. We sometimes need extra help for busy seasons, new product launches or large training bookings, so roles open as the work requires.

What we look for in every hire
Trade experience counts, whether you’re a qualified boilermaker, have worked in a steel yard, or have run maintenance in a plant or municipal workshop. We need people who understand how to handle heat, sparks and moving steel safely, especially when working with cutting gear, earth bonds, or lifting heavy parts.
Patience with customers matters, as you could be showing a TVET learner how to check a fillet weld or guiding a buyer through bench fixtures. We value clear writing and the ability to explain technical details in plain terms: all of us log field notes, gear checks and training feedback, so being able to describe issues or suggest fixes is part of the job.
- Practical trade skill
- Attention to safety (OHS Act and SANS 10019 for gas cylinders)
- Clear written notes
- Patience with different experience levels
- Reliability and teamwork
