MeasureKit Fab

MeasureKit Fab service

MeasureKit Fab service keeps your measuring gear sharp and your layout checks on track. We help you keep callipers, gauges and log cards ready for each shift.

Routine care keeps your MeasureKit Fab reliable

Looking after your MeasureKit Fab set is straightforward if you build small habits into your day and week. Clean tools mean accurate readings and less time lost searching for misplaced gear. Set up a care routine that fits your shift changes, so tools are always ready for the next crew.

Store all callipers, squares, fillet weld gauges and the foam case off the welding bench, away from grinding dust and moisture. Quick checks and proper storage prevent most common faults in shop measuring gear.

  • Daily: Wipe tools after use, return to foam case, log checks on shift card.
  • Weekly: Inspect for burrs, grit and signs of dropped tools; check calliper battery.
  • Monthly: Check calliper accuracy against a known block, check squares for chips, inspect foam case and shift log card.

Spotting trouble and what to check first

If a calliper drifts, shows inconsistent readings or won’t zero, first check for grit between jaws or a loose battery. For squares and gauges, look for dents, rough edges or signs they have been dropped.

Any measuring error longer than 0.25 mm on a standard block or gauge is a warning sign. Sticking jaws, loose screws or illegible log cards mean it is time to clean, check and, if needed, swap out the faulty item. Lost or damaged gear often points to a storage or shift handover slip.
