ClampRail System specifications
ClampRail System gives controlled clamping force and modular jigging on any BenchMaster Pro bay. Choose rail and jaw options to suit your plate, tube or frame work.
What the key ClampRail specs mean for your work
ClampRail rails come in 1.2, 2.4 and 3.0 metre lengths to match most fab bays and job layouts. The 18 mm dogs slot firmly into BenchMaster Pro’s grid, so you clamp anywhere along the top or on an edge. Up to 6 kN clamping force means you can secure thick plate, channel, box or tube for welding, grinding or cutting, without part slip or flex.
Soft jaws protect plated or painted sections from clamp marks, while serrated jaws hold rusty, scaled or oily steel where extra grip is needed. Both types swap out in under a minute. The system is built around real South African shop needs: one-person set-up, fast adjustment for batches, and no special spanners needed.
- Rail lengths: 1.2, 2.4 or 3.0 m fit common fab benches
- 18 mm dogs for BenchMaster Pro grid and edge clamping
- Soft jaws for delicate or finished work
- Serrated jaws for rough or heavy steel
- Up to 6 kN force for strong holding

Loads, materials and jobs suited to ClampRail
ClampRail is tested for up to 6 kN force per clamp head. This covers most general fab, from 1.0 mm sheet to 120 mm channel or 100 x 100 mm tube. Jobs include gate frames, trailer beds, drawbars, support brackets, signage, and odd-cut assemblies. Both soft and serrated jaws allow mixed batches or alternated finishes in the same bay.
Avoid using ClampRail on cast iron or thin-walled aluminium unless you use the softest jaw sets and extra packing. For very heavy or overhanging beams above 120 kg, consider extra dog inserts or split your clamping over two rails. This system is not made for field work, curved surfaces or parts that span more than 3 metres without mid-support.
How to size and choose ClampRail options for your bay
Measure your main bench clear span before picking a rail. A 1.2 metre rail fits smaller bays or single-operator setups, while 2.4 and 3.0 metre lengths suit full BenchMaster Pro benches or multi-operator jigs. Stick to 18 mm dogs for grid accuracy and do not substitute with smaller pins or loose bolts, as this reduces holding security.
Mix soft and serrated jaw packs if your work alternates between clean tube and mill finish plate. Order extra dog grid inserts for regular use at a fixed pitch, or if you want preset stations for repeated assembly. Check your job’s maximum expected clamp load, do not over-tighten, especially on thin or painted workpieces.
