BenchMaster Pro specifications
BenchMaster Pro is a 2.4 metre heavy fabrication bench built for South African welding, grinding and assembly bays. Here’s what its main specs mean for your workshop floor.
Key specifications explained for workshop use
The 2400 × 900 × 25 mm steel top gives solid space for fabricating frames, gates, trailer beams and platework up to about 2.2 metres long. The 25 mm thickness resists flex on heavy tack-ups or when clamping large jigs, so you get repeatable setups.
The 1200 kg static load limit suits most light to medium structural steel, small equipment bases, and agricultural repairs. For anything over a ton per fixture, like beam splicing or full vehicle chassis, rather split the job or use a lifting aid.
50 mm dog holes accept common drop-in stops and quick-release clamps. Four M10 earth studs let you bolt a welding return close to your actual work, rather than only the bench frame. This meets safe earthing practice: keep return current through clean steel, not through bearings or hinges. The oil-black finish protects against rust but wipe down in coastal shops.
- Bench top: 2400 × 900 × 25 mm steel
- Load: 1200 kg static (not for vehicle jacking)
- Grid: 50 mm dog holes for clamps and jigs
- Earth: Four M10 bolted return points
- Finish: Oil-black, maintain for rust control

Right jobs and limits for this bench
BenchMaster Pro is suited to welding, marking out, assembly and repair of gates, trailers, angle iron frames, mild steel furniture, ducting, signage and general steelwork. It takes oxy-fuel, MIG, TIG and stick welding, plus grinding and basic forming.
Avoid using it for heavy vehicle work, hydraulic press jobs, or as a storage or hammering block for anything over 1200 kg. For stainless or aluminium, clean the bench top before use to prevent cross-contamination. The bench is not designed for deep-punch forming, casting, or as a flame cutting table for thick plate over 25 mm.
Fitting BenchMaster Pro into your bay
Allow at least 1.2 metres clear around the bench for safe operator movement and clamp access. For the full ClampRail System, accommodate rail lengths of 1.2, 2.4 or 3.0 metres if needed, depending on your parts and fixturing style.
If you weld large frames or plate, position the earth return close to the weld point using the M10 studs or clamp to the part itself. On small parts or training bays, fixed earthing keeps things tidy and safe. For multi-bench floors, stagger benches or add spark skirts for grinder use. Plan cable and PPE station positions so leads do not cross walkways.
- Minimum bay width: 3.5 metres
- Plan 1.2 metres clearance around
- Bench weighs over 400 kg: use rollers or a pallet jack to position
- Fit earth bond to nearest M10 stud
- Check oil-black finish after each week in coastal areas
