Tip board labels
Tip board labels are durable, easy-to-read fixture tags for organising torch tips and cutting nozzles in any TorchBay Station. Keep every fab bay consistent and safe.
What tip board labels are and where they fit
Tip board labels are practical fixture tags for sorting and identifying torch tips, nozzles and related consumables on any TorchBay Station. Each pack is made for the typical South African oxy-fuel, LPG or plasma cutting bay layout, with clear print for every common size and type.
Use them to label slots, hooks, or boards where tips are stored and checked out. They fit standard steel or aluminium tip racks and work with both open and lockable TorchBay Station boards. All labels stand up to sparks, dust and workshop cleaning products.
These labels also help trainers or supervisors spot missing or misplaced consumables at a glance, making life easier when crews rotate or apprentices are learning the ropes.

How to use tip board labels for safe, organised bays
Apply each label directly to the spot where its tip or nozzle should be racked. Wipe dust and oil off the surface before sticking. If used on magnetic boards, press labels firmly onto a clean, flat area for best hold.
Keep the labelling layout logical: by size, type, or process, so every operator can see at a glance what belongs where. Use paired labels (on the slot or hook and on the tip pack) for quick visual checks before and after each shift.
On multi-process fab floors, colour-code or group tips for cutting, heating and gouging to minimise mix-ups. Regularly check that all labels remain readable and that any missing tips are logged on your shift card or kanban tag.
- Wipe surfaces before applying labels
- Group by tip size, process or nozzle type
- Match label names to your cutting torch tips
- Check and update missing tips daily
- Replace worn or unreadable labels immediately
Care, spares and easy label mistakes to avoid
Clean tip boards and labels with a damp cloth or alcohol wipe, not thinners or strong solvents. Replace any label that becomes unreadable, peels off or is damaged by sparks or heat.
Always order a spare set of the most-used sizes so you can swap them out when consumable ranges change. Use only the supplied label set for your TorchBay Station, improvised sticky notes or faded marker can lead to errors and mix-ups.
A common mistake is ignoring the label layout during a rush job. Shortcuts now cause confusion when new operators or another shift takes over. Keep the board tidy, and check labels as part of your daily handover.
