Ms Thandi Nkosi keeps FabMaster Workshop’s fab floor running safely and smoothly, making sure every bay works as a team and every job meets workshop standards.
Keeping the workshop running safely day to day
Thandi manages the real business of the fab floor at 2 Makro Place, Sunnyrock. She checks that bays are set up with the right fixtures, that each team follows safety habits, and that earth bonds, clamps, and cables are where they need to be. Whether it is a training day for TVET apprentices or a busy contract run, she walks the floor, keeps an eye on shared zones like the GrindDeck Safe, and steps in when new hands miss a step in the routine.
She also handles the housekeeping that keeps work on track: sorting out kanban cards on consumable carts, checking that PPE stations are stocked, and making sure the layout fits the space. Thandi is the one who picks up small issues before they become hazards, from loose bench earths to misplaced cylinders, always with South African regulations and practical realities in mind.
Supporting fab yards and real work across South Africa
Thandi helps yards of all sizes, from trailer shops on the East Rand to welding teams in Durban or farm repairers out near Bloemfontein. When a customer needs advice on setting out a new TorchBay Station or sorting their ScrapRack Lane for offcut management, Thandi draws from hands-on fixes she has seen on shopfloors countrywide.
She is often called in to help line up new training bays for TVET colleges, or to walk through a fab shop where space is tight and routines have slipped. Her practical input helps keep layouts safe and efficient, with screens and fences in the right place, and clear, labelled zones for measuring, welding, and grinding.
