Training
Mr Sipho Dlamini
Mr Sipho Dlamini focuses on practical training for real South African fabrication workshops, helping teams and apprentices build solid floor habits from the start.
Keeping training bays organised and safe
Sipho Dlamini looks after the practical side of workshop training at FabMaster Workshop. He’s on the floor early, checking that weld, grind and layout zones are marked, clear and ready for the day's training. Sipho makes sure PPE is where it belongs, machines are set up safely, and every bay has the right shop-floor cards for the tasks planned. He keeps a close eye on habits that slip during the term and helps apprentices fix mistakes before they spread.
Sipho’s daily routine includes checking that shared gear like grinders, clamps and measuring tools go back in the right place after each use. If a power cut stalls the floor, he coordinates a safe restart and updates the shift log. He also reviews each bay for clear walkways and fire safety, especially when new kit like a TorchBay Station or Consumable Cart arrives.

Helping South African fab yards and TVET teams
Sipho works with TVET colleges, steelwork yards, trailer shops and small repair teams across South Africa, from East Rand to coastal towns. He helps set up new training bays, adapt layouts for different processes, and keeps an eye out for things that slow down production like bottlenecks at the grinding deck or confusion over earth bond points.
He’s hands-on when it comes to teaching apprentices the basics: check your gear, measure twice, keep the right PPE on and update the shift card every time. For foremen, Sipho’s habit cards and layout notes help manage busy teams safely, even when everyone is rushing to finish a big job before month-end. He also gives practical advice about weather issues, like humidity rusting clamps in Durban or dry dust on layout tables in Joburg.
How to work with Sipho through our contact form
If you’d like Sipho’s help to set up or improve your training bay, send us a message using our contact form. Tell Sipho what type of work you do, how many apprentices or teams you’re training, and where your workshop is based. He’ll get in touch to discuss your floor’s needs, suggest the right layout and kit, and arrange hands-on support at your yard or training centre.
Sipho can also help you plan your shop-floor cards, train-the-trainer sessions, and bay layouts that fit both SANS safety rules and your daily work. Don't forget to ask about our TrainBay Starter packs if you’re setting up a new TVET zone or upgrading an old fab yard.
