Training days
FabMaster Workshop runs practical, hands-on training days in Germiston and at select showrooms, focused on real South African fabrication challenges and safe workshop habits.
Common training questions from fab yards
Our training days are built around what actually happens on the floor, not theory or long lectures. Teams get real practice with their own welders, grinders, benchtops and gear, in scenarios taken straight from South African fab shops: layout, joint fit-up, safe grinding, correct earth bonding, and tracking consumables.
Sessions are run under supervision as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Every operator gets shown safe routines for welding, cutting, and grinding, including PPE selection, earth return checks, and safe handling of gas cylinders. Practical guidance covers both older and newer crew, making sure everyone understands the right way to set up, work, and pack up the bay.
If you have new staff, upskilling needs, or want to sharpen up on best practice for weld quality, bay organisation, or tool care, these days are for you. On the day, our trainers show safe work habits, explain routines, and answer questions specific to your own jobs.

Information to send us for training
To help us set up the right level and focus for your team, please give us concrete details about your workshop and crew. The more accurately you describe your setup, the better we can tailor the session.
Send us your details using our contact form. We handle personal information under POPIA. If you want a return or have a warranty query, the Consumer Protection Act applies.
- Your workshop address and contact person
- What you fabricate (gates, trailers, frames, repairs, etc.)
- Number of crew needing training and their experience levels
- Current PPE, welding, and cutting gear you use
- Any specific safety, quality, or layout issues you want covered
What happens after you send us a message
Once we get your details, we review your requirements and match you with a trainer. If needed, we might ask for photos or a basic floor sketch to help us understand your bay layout and typical jobs.
We then set up a proposed training programme, confirm any gear or fixtures you want to try during the session, and agree on dates with you. All our hands-on training is supervised to meet OHS Act requirements. After the day, we can suggest follow-up routines, refresher sessions, or fit-out tweaks based on what your team needs.
